Susanna Wesley was a remarkable women, the 25th child of a noted scholar and clergyman, in the early 1700’s of rural England. She was home-schooled and married a minister of the Church of England, Samuel Wesley, when she was just 19 years old, bearing him 19 children in all.

Her life was filled with struggles but her dedication to both God and her family are an incredible inspiration to all Christian mothers. She sadly lost nine of her children and home-schooled the remaining ten. Her strict guidelines for them may seem harsh today, but, unknown to her, she was laying a foundation in John and Charles that would ultimately change the world. Their lively minds and disciplined lives were exactly what God could use to spearhead the great evangelical awakening of the 18th century.
