£7.99
Born in New York, Kirk was graduated from the College of New Jersey in 1820 and took up the practice of Law. Two years later, immediately following his conversion, he enrolled at Princeton Seminar and studied under Dr. Archibald Alexander.

After graduation, he travelled the middle and southern states for two years as agent for the American Board of Commissioners of Foreign Missions. This was followed by a Presbyterian Pastorate in Albany, New York, two years in Europe, and three years of itinerant evangelism in major cities of America.

He than accepted a call to the Mount Vernon Congregational Church in Boston (where D. L. Moody attended as a young man) and remained there for 25 years. He continued active in revival concern throughout his life.

These lectures were originally delivered before students at The Theological Seminary at Andover in the winter of 1868.

They offer an excellent examination of revivals from the theological, historical and practical standpoints. An excellent pdf facsimile of 344 pages.
